Accoya Wood As Timber Windows And Doors Substitute
When it comes to having doors and windows installed in houses, UK homeowners don’t plan on dealing with high expenses. You can find a few alternatives to expensive wood nonetheless, if you plan on having Timber windows and doors. One alternative is to choose Accoya wood, since it has the appearance and quality of ordinary timber. Accoya wood is a purely safe product that is derived after a treatment process called “wood acetylation.” It has the first-rate quality of hard wood like teak and mahogany. Accoya is ideal when installed for doors and windows, as it can endure up to 50 years of wear and tear above ground.

A good post. One clarification. when installed, Accoya should last far more than 50 years – not “up to 50 years” as you wrote. It is warranted for 50 years and, having worked on the material and seen the many years of testing, I would guess it will last 100+ years, and more if well installed (i.e. not sitting in pools of water for long periods). It will be better than any known wood species, not just because it doesn’t rot (or at least incredibly slowly) but also because it barely shrinks or swells, which prevents damage to coatings normally associated with wood, and is not an oily wood (unlike many hardwoods), so coatings affix very well.
